This weekend All Memphis Music is pleased to present a specialty show highlighting Whole Lotta Blues, the new album by Evidence Music recording artist, Troy Turner. Troy’s re-emergence on the scene has been widely hailed as long overdue. In addition to displaying the talents of Memphis’ own Steve Cropper, the record is a showcase for Troy’s exceptional guitar and vocal work, which has evoked comparisons to Buddy Guy and B.B. King.

The special will feature an in-depth discussion with Troy’s producer, Jon Tiven, who provides revealing behind-the-scenes anecdotes about the making of this record and the world-class cast of characters who appear on it. Queen’s Brian May, Bad Company’s Simon Kirke, Jeff Beck Group alumnus, Max Middleton, blues legend Hubert Sumlin, soul standout Howard Tate and Young Rascals’ founder, Felix Cavaliere are just some of the all-stars who make an appearance on Whole Lotta Blues.

Turner and Tiven have whipped up a gem that has all the elements to make it one of 2010’s most talked about releases. Hey everybody, it's time for another All MemphisMusic.com Specialty Show and this week, it's a classic, because we're going to air a one-hour special featuring the music of legendary guitarist and Rock N' Roll Hall of Famer, Steve Cropper this Friday, December 18 at 10:00 PM Central Time; and repeating the following morning, December 19, at 10:00 AM Central Time. During the interview, Steve will discuss many of his 20 all-time personal favorite songs he participated in as a songwriter, musician, or producer, with recollections about tracks and how they came about, as well as other anecdotes about the recordings.

Steve Cropper is the iconic guitarist and a founding member of Booker T. & the MGs, whose Memphis sound not only brought the group international acclaim on its own, but were also considered to be the best backing group in the history of soul music, working with many of the Stax Records stable of soul and blues artists, including Otis Redding, Sam & Dave, Albert King, William Bell, Eddie Floyd and Rufus Thomas. As a songwriter, Steve Cropper collaborated with a number of artists such as Otis Redding and Wilson Pickett on an array of songs that have become classics. He also became a well-respected producer and continues to work today with many contemporary performers in the blues, rock, soul, and roots genres of music. Otis was born on September 9, 1941 and to celebrate his birthday, All Memphis Music will feature a Two Hour ALL OTIS REDDING Special this weekend. It starts Friday Sept 11th 10:00 PM (CST Memphis Time) and will repeat Saturday morning Sept. 12th at 10:00 AM (CST Memphis time.)

No, not the same show, but this time we have obtained exclusive interviews with Steve that start with his childhood growing up and goes through the present to what he is doing now.

All Memphis Music is very proud of this show, especially since what you will hear has NEVER been heard before. Steve granted us a special insight of his life, and needless to say it is downright fascinating.
